1.Kahani (Aakhon Ke Pardon Pe)
Singers: Joi Barua and Neuman Pinto
An awesome start to the album, with a soft and an emotional song. The acoustic guitar strumming in the background aptly successfully conveys the message of new beginning. Later this perfectly blends with beautiful chorus and soft rock. Both the singers have sung exceptionally well making it mesmerizing. And lastly hats off to the lyricist Amitabh for such beautiful and endearing lyrics.
2.Geet(Kuch Naya To Zaroori hai)
Singers: Amit Trivedi and Amitabh Bhattacharya
A great start with lovely tune of piano followed by mandolin and electric guitar and then drums increasing the energy of the song. The music director and lyricist themselves sing this song. The music is inspiring and fresh with a classic rock base. Simple, crisp, and innovative music. Great work by music director and the lyricist.
This track is very interesting, and starts with folk style music and then suddenly takes a twist with the addition of electric guitar and drums. It starts as a folk song with that typical folk vocal and music. This song falls under the genre of folk fusion. Mohan has done an exceptionally well done job especially in high registers. And obviously not to forget to mention the lyricist Amitabh who made the song just WOW!!!
Singer: Raman Mahadevan, Amitabh Bhattacharya, Bonnie Chakravarthy, Kshitij Wagh, Shriram Iyer, Tochi Raina, Amit Trivedi and Anurag Kashyap
Another innovative and experimental song by Amit Trivedi. The music is minimal with an acoustic guitar playing in the background. He seems to have a fondness for this instrument. It features in most of his songs. This track is funny and pure satire against politicians. Whole bunch of singers like Raman Mahadevan, Amitabh Bhattacharya, Bonnie Chakravarthy, Kshitij Wagh, Shriram Iyer, Tochi Raina, Amit Trivedi and Anurag Kashyap have worked effortlessly as a team to make this song. However, the biggest ovation goes to Anurag Kashyap for his satirical lyrics that flip between amusement, hilarity and thought provoking lines.
Singers: Amit Trivedi, Neuman Pinto, Nikhil D’Souza and Amitabh Bhattacharya
“Aazaadiyan”, one of the outstanding compositions on the entire CD. In this track the harmonious vocals get perfectly blend with soft pleasant melody and rock music. This song is incomplete without Amit Trivedi, Neuman Pinto Nikhil D’souza and Amitabh Bhattacharya. Lyrics are once again thought provoking and a testament to the talents of Mr Bhattacharya. Superb lyrics, superb composition overall thumps up!!!
Singers: Amit Trivedi, Joi Barua and Neuman Pinto
This track is more inspirational as well as vigorous. The instruments are same as 2nd track like guitar, drums beats but this one is more lively and peppy. Amit Trivedi along with other singers have done excellent job no doubt credit should be given to Amitabhji for such motivational lyrics.
7. Udaan Theme
This is the most awaited and amazing piece in the album. A beautiful tune played in the piano and violin with vocals of Neuman and Joi is simply marvelous and melodious. This is the perfect ending to the album.
Album Rating :
The music of Udaan is classy, lively, inspirational and themed. Amit Trivedi has experimented with music and has done exceptionally well. He has given us fresh and invigorating tunes to each and every track. All the tracks are very inspirational and suit the theme of the film. And no doubt that the credit should be shared with Amitabh Bhattacharya for his classic and motivational lyrics for making every song special with its underlying message. This is a complete classic. DONOT THINK MUCH JUST GO FOR IT!!!!! THUMBS UP!!
