Oru Kal Oru Kannadi

Harris has come up with his 2nd good album this year. After 'Nanban' whose songs were big hits, this album doesn't fail to impress. However, it is not a great album either. A couple of songs have been composed well and a few of them are quite repetitive. If you are a Harris fan, go for it and you will surely love it!

Marina is an upcoming Tamil movie directed by national award winning director 'Pandiraj'. His previous movies 'Pasanga' and 'Vamsam' were critically acclaimed. This film stars famous TV anchor Sivakarthikeyan and 'Kalavani' fame Oviya in the lead. The music has been composed by new comer Girish. The album has a few different and catchy songs. It is a really good debut for the composer, Girish. He has also experimented with different tunes for a couple of songs. Overall, it is an enjoyable and well composed album.

Nanban's album is supposedly one of the most expected one this year. It stars Vijay, Ileana, Jiiva, Sathyaraj and Srikanth in the lead. The movie is a remake of Bollywood blockbuster '3 Idiots' which was an adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's 'Five Point Someone'. This is Shankar's next directorial venture the blockbuster 'Endhiran'. Since the songs in '3 Idiots' were huge hits, it is natural that comparisons arise between 'Nanban' and '3 Idiots'. But after a rather poor outing with '7aum Arivu', Harris has come up with a better album this time. This is the first time Harris has composed songs for Vijay. The songs have already started becoming famous. Lets hope that this album becomes a big hit!

In his very first attempt, singer Karthik has proved himself as a promising music director. He used to charm us with his singing and now his compositions are equally charming. He does justice to this period film. Behold! We have a composer in the town and hopefully he is going to rock in his coming albums too. Plug in your headphones soon.

In all , Venghai is a commercial melodrama and is filled with a lot of village tunes. Hari-DSP duo did not prove that good as they did it in ‘Singam’ and ’Aaru’. But the songs are somewhat nice to hear. Might be DSP’s background score would feature this village drama a great success.
