Album Analysis:

1. Neram Theme

Singers: Alphonse Putharen

What better than the director talking in philosophical way to start the album? Yeah this is the main theme song of the movie which starts with the director’s note. Don’t worry it won’t put you to sleep or inject you a hardcore poetry into that bharathiraja does. Alphonse speaks about the title Neram in a very simplistic yet very meaning full way. What follows next is pure music treat. Rajesh the composer of this album, Hats off to his work for giving an outstanding theme with cleaver use of instruments. Composer’s creativity is seen all over the music, be it with the beats, keyboard work, and should mention the mix of rock sound with electronic guitar backing with the thavil (dhol). Each bit has the sound of New Age clock tune. The music is slow but you are sure to enjoy.

Time bomb that keeps us hooked.

2. Kadhal Ennulle

Singers: Ranjith Govind

Ranjith has given some fabulous songs in past, but this will mark a new high for him. Also this is simply the best song of this album. Right from the start you will fall in love with this song. The Acoustic guitar clubbed with Acoustic Harmonica starts the song in pleasant fashion and the beats are soft and sweet enough to drag you quickly into the song. Ranjith voice is so perfect that it has the passion of fun, youthful, romantic love in it. Ranjith deserves credit for giving right pauses and has controlled his voice perfectly. But the show stealer is the music director. Wait for that Nadhaswaram in the midsection; you will be blown away with that tune and all these ingredients make it a perfect melody.

Time for some Love.

3. Evan Avan Avan

Singers: Benny Dayal

This is a high adrenaline, fast paced song. Right from the word go the tempo, beats and the singers voice runs at high speed. Benny has sung it with full of energy and has tested the speed of his voice. Benny word pronunciation in this racy track is crystal clear and deserves thumbs up. Music in the midsection and the end has the composers touch. His choice of instruments interests me a lot and puts in lot of faith in his work. Lyrics are philosophical, pump you with energy, motivation, positive quotes and leave you with lot of hope.

Time for the one who fight bravely.

4. The Phone Booth

Singers: (Instrumental)

This track would bring in the memories of cowboy. The hard strike of chords from the acoustic guitar with repeated rising beats has a modern touch to the old age cowboy tunes. This is pure musical treat from composer, shows his talent. The interesting part is when he mixes the electronics guitar to the tune, pitch perfect. What the Rajesh has done is maintained the beats of time throughout the track.

Composers musical treat for time.

5. Kaatru Veesum

Singers: Haricharan

Yet another romantic number but sound peppier & amateurish. Going by the music and lyrics it must be composed to portray the amateurish love of the male towards female. The music starts with Acoustic harmonica and Solo Guitar. Again the beats are soft to give it a melody feel. The lyrics are peppy, funny, enjoyable and lovable. A few repeats would put the listeners humming the tune. Even though composer has showed his presence with his intellectual musical talent, it is Haricharan voice which will keep you floating in air.

Yet another track added to Haricharans hit list.

6. Thiruttu Isai (Beethoven Resurrected)

Singers: (Instrumental)

This is the rock version of ‘Fur Elise’. Rajesh has given the respect to the original composer in a very delightful way. The track starts on the original version of Fur Elise, going a min and half into the track you can see the changes Rajesh has brought into the original version. The rock version has more beats and it is high on tempo. This might make the visuals in the film to move quicker and make the audience glued to the screen. This version has the feel of thriller and suspense in it.

New age ‘Fur Elise’.

7. Pistha – The Run Theme

Singers: Shabareesh Varma

Enough has been said about this track which was released as the promo of the film. From the day one this track has made it to Chart, turned into undisputed hit and has gone viral around the globe. Going through the promo, this song sound like end credit roll out. The music runs high on beats and Shabareesh voice does the catching the beats game. Shabareesh has done a tremendous job by mouthing the lyrics at such high tempo and in a very entertaining manner. Lyrics originate from Sathyan Anthikkad’s film Kinnaram, a famous comedy sequence that featured popular artist Jagathy Sreekumar who has been given the credit as the lyricist for this song. The Lyrics doesn’t make any sort of sense or meaning but as it’s played with this song, you are sure have a treat, dance and enjoy it to the max.

Runaway hit!

What do I say to such an entertaining album from Rajesh. Each track has creativity and innovation in the music. Each track does show the talent this composer has. Also each track is so different for one another that you feel freshness in the song. There isn’t much of low this album has, its pure dhamaka for music listeners. Rajesh has brought in a complete package to make this a perfect commercial album that would fit listeners of all age. He is sure to go places after this album and will cement his name for some time in this film industry. After listening to all the song from this album I feel the film will be a perfect entertainer that will be loved by all.
