Genre: R&B, Reggae
Unimke-maria is a singer and songwriter who is trying to branch out with this album. This self-employed entertainer gets his inspiration from Michael Jackson, R. Kelly, Celine Dion and Tupac Shakur.
Fireman is not the best track to start the album with. The heavy electronics and synthesizers drown out the singer’s voice.
- Get Up
Get Up succeeds the previous track and does a better job than its predecessor. This track is a light listen and is a fun one to dance to!
The good thing about this track is that its rhythm and beat is well composed. The voice quality is more acceptable to the ear.
- Alien Lady
This track isn’t as good as the previous ones. However, the rap manages to be quite refreshing!
- Boogie Woogie
Inspite of its light reggae beat that could have one nodding along, the singer’s voice is all over the place; showing a lack of coordination.
- Two Apart
Two Apart could have perhaps been a track to recommend because of its wonderfully composed background track and lovely lyrics. However, the vocals lose their power.
Final Thoughts: The artist has a great potential, which is under-utilized in this album. It doesn’t help that the tracks are all quite heavily synthesized because it gives no space for the audience to listen to the singer’s voice. However, the beats and rhythm of the background music make up for the album.
