Let’s see if this Tamil remake of the Telugu Vishnu-Genelia-starrer “Dhee” makes an impression in Kollywood. And “Chiku Bukhu” and “Payanam” fame Pravin has rendered the tunes for this flick. Let’s check out the musical part of this flick.

Song                 Rating
Ringa Ringa radio ★★★☆☆
Whistle podu ★★★½☆
Kalla paarvai ★★½☆☆

Ringa Ringa Radio:

A Fast paced number banking heavily on the folk flavour and peppy lyrics. The usage of local beats is very impressive. Singers’ voice adds some zeal to this song that is full of energy. Another number all set to rock in the Radio stations for their brand promotion and also a good fast number to be heard for a long time with some catchy lyrics and rhythmic beats.

Whistle podu:

A surprise track in the album is Whistle Podu…, something that works with the entire IPL fever that has swept over the city. The track has some massy lines that go, Chennaikku vandhaan Dhoni, Avan sixer adichale Marinave gali…which is worth mentioning. Surely this song can be played repeatedly in Chidambaram stadium as of now and in future too. But in the film the visuals would have shot between the lead pair with their kith and kin’s. This song is all set to expect whistles from all the major section of music audience.

Kalla paarvai:

Haunted melody complemented with ordinary, yet good beats is what this song is all about. But still finds something messy and incomplete and fails to catch ones music pulse. A better composition and a better attempt and reworking on this track would have taken this song to the next level. Finally, this song is a passable number.

Album ★★★★★★½☆☆☆

Pravin mani has tried his best to match up to the expectation, but perhaps the asking was not of very high order. If you are looking for another peppy and groovy album from the young music director, you have it, but for those looking for variety music it might tad disappoint. With songs which seem to be more situation and fast numbered. The only slow song fails to grab the attention. Overall Pravin comes up with a snazzy score for Mirattal with a couple of attractive songs thrown in which are already making vibes in the micro blogging sites.

Final Verdict: Short and Smart album.
