Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga, yeah you heard it right, the first thing that comes in our mind reading the words Billa and Ranga together is Rajinikanth, but this isn’t related to the Superstar in any way except that the lead cast are proud Rajini Fans in the movie. Let us check out how the songs have fared.

1. Oru Porambokku
Singers: Silambarasan & Yuvan Shankar Raja
This song is all about the lead cast trying in vain to call off drinks as a New Year resolution. STR aka Silambarasan and U1 aka Yuvan Shankar Raja croon their youthful voice for this kuthu song. STR as we all know, has sung lot of kuthu songs; his voice perfectly fits this song. Yuvan has done a good job too. Lyrics by Na. Muthukumar deserve a special credit. He depicts what today’s youngsters feel about drinks, why they drink and how hard it is to stop drinking, in a very funny and casual way. This makes it one entertaining song. Yuvan has shown his skills with such songs in past, but this time he has used different sounds to make it feel catchy and enjoyable.
More crowd to sell more bottles. On Repeat!!
2. Konjum Kili
Velmurgan, who has made his name with so many hits off late with his husky voice which suits more of kuthu and village back drop song has sung this song with a very subtle high pitch voice. The song describes how the protagonist feels when he falls in love on first sight. The song has a very unique feel of providing both melodic and kuthu beats. It’s quite addictive from the first play. Yugabharathi, who has penned more than 1000
lyrics, has penned the lyric makes this song. His words are beautiful and hooking. He has beautifully described the girl’s features. Yuvan’s skill on using different instrument is seen very clearly in this song. His music deserves a special mention and huge credit as it makes you feel the song and lyrics. The best from this album and a good one from U1 after long time.
Give your ear; see your heart and soul enjoying to the tune!!
3. Sudasuda Thooral
Singers: Yuvan Shankar Raja
A Melody from U1 always tops the chart and turns a trend setter. This song sets high expectation as U1 himself has sung the song. The song doesn’t fail to impress. Starts off with breezy, light hearted, soothing whistle and U1 on high pitch. U1 soon gets you into the song with the impressive voice. Yugabharathi’s lyric are simple, cute, youthful, romantic, rhyming and enjoyable. They lyrics express the guys feeling when he is in love and with his girlfriend. Yuvans music keeps us on groove and put you in heaven for a while.
A Romantic number with soul.
4. Ulladha Naan
Another Kuthu song with yet another social message, only difference, it tries to convey message about today’s politics with funny words. Sathyan’s voice has a very heavy punch to sing those sensitive lyrics. “Nallatha Seivomunnu Reelu Than Vittaga, Uzhala Seiya Mattum Kootani Vachanga” and few more which might have created buzz considering the movie is song in one of those village where politics is considered very seriously. Sathyan does keep up to the right pitch to give the song’s feel. Yugabharathi’s political lyrics are pretty much sensible, realistic and honest on today’s society. What turns against the song is the tune. There isn’t anything fresh in it and feels pretty repeated from his past work. This even reminds us of one of the song from Saguni.
An honest lyric fails in tune.
5. Dheivangal Ellam
Singers: Vijay Yesudas
Remember Yesudas crooning his voice for a very light hearted, philosophical song? This song does remind us of him and give it through his son Vijay Yesudas. This is a very emotional song describing fathers love and care. Dad – Son Emotional bonding is something we don’t get to see very often, but this song in simple says ‘DAD’ is always the first hero for boys. The music is very touching and moves along with the song. Yuvans keyboard work is very rhythmic. Na. Muthukumar does the magic with his philosophical words. This is a perfect song to end the perfect album.
What can I say about this album which starts with Na.Muthukumars philosophical words on drinks and end with his Philosophical words on Father- Son’s emotional bonding. A beautiful Romantic number which makes you fall in love and a village type romantic kuthu song which makes you search for one such gal for yourself. Filling the gap is the social message of today’s politics. It is one such album where everything looks perfect and worth buying.
Picks Of The Album: Konjum Kili, Sudasuda Thooral, Oru Porambokku.
