Artist : Alexandre Desplat
As the Golden Globe Winner and a person a person with many such similar accolades was immediately roped in by Director Yates to provide the background score for the 1st part of the adaptation of the last book in the Harry Potter franchise. Also his success for his background score in thriller movies like “Firewall” , “Ghostwriter” and “Hostage” proved that he had a wider audience and hence the perfect choice for this mega thriller finale !
Alexandre did a very commendable job in trying to revive the feel of the theme from the very first movie to make it sound more nostaligic for the fans. The music tries to reflect the maturity of each character from his first movie to this last addition and also tries to explicitly reveal the darker tone to give you that sense of revelation that its gonna be the final movie. This is one of those very rare soundtrack albums which conveys the exact gravity and emotion of a situation for which its being played. Although the whole movie is themed at fianlity and death of loved characters the subtle variation of the darkness in the music is a high catch and even the background score when Neville comes along the portrait offers a sense of hope and deftly conveyed by the music but its maintained at a meagre amount with overshadowing melancholic sounds .

I have reviewed a few good tracks here!
Mai Fujisawa’s epic vocals and Desplat’s vocals there cannot be a better start to the movie’s soundtracks! The song straight away instills the feeling of everything coming to an end. The strings are just too amazing . Mildly addictive!
A fast paced track which comes in the movie when the trio go down the Gringotts along with Griphook to Lestrange’s vault synchronising with fast visuals on screen as they move along a roller coaster track.
A shrill start, fast paced track wonderful mood which conveys the heart racing scenario experienced by the characters as they ride on the dragon from beneath the Gringotts vault and to the ocean.
4.Panic Inside Hogwarts
As snape runs away from McGonagel and she assumes command Alexander starts playing this background trakc which deftly portrays the confusion prevailing and the efforts to restore it and prepare for battle.
The stone guardians are awakened by McGonagel and the awesome music plays in the background which give you the goosebumps as one by one those statues fall on the ground with a “thud” in tempo with the music. Awesome background , not too fast neither too slow. Must listen irrespective of whether u have watched the movie or not.
Strangely it fells like its influenced a lot by Batman’s soundtrack , try to introspect the the pace and tempo of the music while listening to this one and you may agree with me. Otherwise a different piece from the album and a welcome deviation.
Sounds similar to the soundtrack “Statues” with a much deeper bass, thuds and even slower paced . Sounds more soothing and lifts you to tranquility although that’s not whats depicted in the movie the final parts grow a bit gloomy.
