Neeyenna Periya Appatakkara? ★★★★☆

Singers: Anirudh Ravichander, Harshitha Krishnan

Lyrics: Madan Karky

Heard of Santhanam’s famous dialogue “Avlo periya appatakkara” ? It takes a form of a song in this film , which has the lyrics mentioning how the love between a girl and boy seems like in the present days The orchestration has some awesome jazz overtones , packed with big band horn sections and band drums. Anirudh and Harshitha spell out the doped was of singing in a extremely brilliant way. Karky needs to be credited for the kind of words used and easily fits into each part of the song.

Shut Up Your Mouth ★★★★½

Singers: Deepak, Shruti Haasan

Lyrics: Madan Karky

Imman combines the jazz and Arabian tones to come up with an unusual dance number , sung by Shruthi Haasan and Deepak .The reason why the song is gonna click among listeners , is due to its easy going nature right from the start and whacky male singing. There is great transformation between the first and second stanza , that is a major plus point. The trumpets and the violins are styled in a multifaceted way.

Muttaalaai Muttaalaai ★★★★☆

Singers: D Imman, Maria Roe Vincent

Lyrics: Madan Karky

Imman goes back to the mobila days of composing with this number . There is a spiral groove , that automatically catches you here and there and that turns you on for a hearing . Maria does away a few English lines in an effortless manner ,set  in R&B and slow rap style.

Mosale Moosale ★★★★☆

Singers: A V Pooja, Deepak

Lyrics: Madan Karky

Keba lapses onto a patch of fretworks with his guitar and opens up the club-remix featuring , Deepak and Pooja. Imman impresses you with the selection of percussions and arrangements are totally jazz based. The nadhaswaram in particular spikes up the energy levels at the open and close of the song. Finally the number drills down to a rock & roll feel at last.

Puthiya Ulagai ★★★★½

Singers: Vaikom Vijayalakshmi

Lyrics: Madan Karky

If anyone wants to remember your mother, keep this song close to you , since it spreads the same vibes .Vaikom Vijayalakshmi not only sings , but also plays the gayatri veena , that appears in the first interlude. This is loosely based on the Dharbari raagam and  the tone in Vijayalakshmi’s voice says it all for a stand out mention. The lines by Madhan Karky add few more brownies and are deep in meaning.

Muttaalaai Muttaalaai (Instrumental)  ★★★★☆

Singers: Instrumental

Karthik Iyer teams up in an yet another track and has become a regular in Imman’s garage . The western resemblance is inevitably visible here due to the instrumental version and lots of harmony layers , improvised bits  have been added to beautify the track. Only the female portions have been retained and the violin does the rest of the talk.

Picks of the album – No doubts about that. You are going to love this album as much as his previous ones. All the songs indeed !!

Bottomline – There needs no judgement , when it comes to composer Imman . He is so consistent from his very jump start  to today and has travelled across all possible genres , that a listener wants. Since this is a youth entertainer , he has given a total make-over and comprehends something apart in this album completely. This is not Ennamo Yedho , FYI in his music. Hear it for him.

Album Rating: ★★★★★★★★½☆
