Chitti Chitti Adugaa

Chitti Chitti AdugaaSingers: Naresh Iyer, Shreya Ghoshal
Lyricist: Sirivennela Seetarama Sastry

The beautiful voices of Shreya Ghoshal and Naresh Iyer give life to the song and make it a refreshing one to listen to. The chorus is used effectively like always by the maestro. It is a typical Ilayaraja song with beats that linger in one’s head long after listening to it.

Mattiloni Chettu
Singer: SP.Balasubramanyam
Lyricist: Sirivennela Seetarama Sastry

This is one song that could go right into the collections of Ilayaraja’s classics from the 80s and 90s. SPB’s singing is as good as ever and he succeeds in bringing out the mood of the song just as effectively. The music is apt considering the theme of the song.

Endaka Ee Payanam (F)
Singer: Surmukhi
Lyricist: Sirivennela Seetarama Sastry

The song is a beautiful melody that makes you think of all the happy days when you were young. It is as if the song is specially made to suit Surmukhi’s sweet voice. Her voice just floats above the music so gracefully and evokes the emotions of the listeners.

Gayam Tagili
Singer: Ilayaraja
Lyricist: Sirivennela Seetarama Sastry

Though mature, the voice of Ilayaraja is sweet in its own way and has a soothing effect on the listeners. This song is an over load of melody complete with the slow beats and amazing instrumental compositions in between. It is a perfect treat to the diehard fans of the maestro.

Endaka Ee Payanam (M)
Singer: Sathyan
Lyricist: Sirivennela Seetarama Sastry

It is the male version of the melody. Though it doesn’t beat the female version, it is on par with it to an extent. Sathyan’s voice has a nice depth and brings out the feel well.

Album ★★★★★★★½☆☆

Final Verdict

The album on the whole is an overdose of melody. The maestro is no doubt the best in creating melodies but the music is just a reminder of his earlier songs. Some fresh beats would have been a welcome change but it still a treat to the lovers of good music nonetheless.
