Cigarette Ki Tarah is an upcoming Hindi movie which is set to release on 19th October 2012. A romantic thriller which casts not so popular actors, Bhoop Yaduvanshi, Prashant Narayanan, Madhurima Tuli, Sudesh Berry. The movie supposedly has a lot of scenes which might take the audience aback and keep them curious as to what might happen next. The Plot of the movie seems similar to the usual love stories in Bollywood movies which has a charming boy and a beautiful girl falling in love with each other and then the guy falls into a lot of trouble but has an happy ending. What could be different about this movie is what kind of trouble does this love-struck guy falls into.

The movie has 6 songs in total which includes one remix, let’s have a look at how this album fares :

Song name Singer Rating
Dooriyan Nikhil D’Souza ★★★½☆
Hey Bhagwan Tochi Raina ★★½☆☆
Mujhko Khud Se Kavita Seth ★★☆☆☆
Cigarette Ki Tarah Suzanne D’Mello ★★★☆☆
Ye Bata Do Piya Sudeep Banerjee and Sweta Pandit ★★★½☆
Dooriyan (Remix) Nikhil D’Souza ★★★☆☆

Song name : Dooriyan

The song starts off with a very calm soothing music, the kind of music which you would find in Disney movies where the characters are singing melodiously about nature. The pace of the tune however picks up as soon as the vocals begin. Lyrics aren’t that bad but it’s the tune and the vocals which is totally worth drooling over, which will make you love this song.

Song name : Hey Bhagwan

The violin music in the beginning will definitely catch your attention. The rest of the song will seem meaningless and just another addition to the music album but the violin music will continue to ring in your head. Only if that music was there throughout the entire song, this track would be the best one in the album.

Song name : Mujko Khud Se

This one is a sad melodramatic track. Again the notable thing about this song is the tune which is mellow yet very pleasing. Looks like the music composers have done a good job!

Song name : Cigarette Ki Tarah

The title track isn’t a typical item song but it is one of the tracks the audience will most look forward to especially because of the seductive dance. The vocals too are sung in a very sexy and sultry way, guess that’s exactly how it was meant to be sung to suit the context of the movie.

Song name : Ye Bata Do Piya

Again, brilliant singing! The male and the female vocals sound absolutely soulful and the music just adds onto it. It sounds a lot like a Gazal, just that this is sung at a faster pace. Never the less, you should not miss out on this one!

Song name : Dooriyan (remix)

A not so good remix, but if you want to dance on this track in a club, the remix version shall do. But if you prefer slow songs, the original is the one for you.

Overall ★★★★★★★½☆☆

Verdict : Surprisingly the songs of this movie are much better than expected compared to the tracks of other movies which are set to release along with this movie. The vocals are at it’s best, the lyrics aren’t that bad but go unnoticed because of such powerful vocals and the music which leaves you asking for more. Dooriyan and Ye Bata Do Piya are the best tracks in this album. The other tracks are good too, so do listen to this album as it will be worth every bit of it.
