Showcasing her charming personality is the angelic vocals of the East Coast native, Kate Callahan. Her outward charming persona transpires to her music straight from the soul. The singer/songwriter with a slight folk twang to her tracks goes for the heartstrings track after track.
Recently, the enchanting woman released her EP, Two Doors, which elegantly flows seamless from track to track. Starting with the title-track “Two Doors”, it strikes you with a graceful melody and enchanting lyrics. Perhaps my favorite, “Yes” is a true love ballad creating the image of saying ‘yes’ to a proposal and a life with someone. The juxtaposition between the lyrics and the tone of her voice create absolute imagery making you feel like you are in her shoes. Furthermore, she keeps the lyrics and the expectations of love real as she sings, “I’ve got a mountain to climb and you should see…It’s a beautiful view”. She proves that love is not an ongoing fairytale but a continuous adventure up the mountain but the view proves it’s worth it. The ability to transport the listener so well through a song is a unique talent that so many artists lack. Kate hits the nail on the head with the imagery, making it seem effortless.
Her musical sensibility seems second nature to the mature songstress and it certainly doesn’t disappoint. To say I am impressed by Kate is an understatement, she certainly dazzles. Be sure to check out her EP Two Doors on ITunes today.
