No one can easily forget the song ‘Muqalla Muqabbla’ from Kadhalan/Hum se hai muqabla. Such is the power of his voice. He was first spotted by AR. Rahman for his film ‘Kadhalan’ in 1994. Thus started his journey to stardom. He subsequently sang in numerous songs in multiple languages like Telugu and Hindi before becoming a national rage and breaking all regional barriers. What attracted the crowd was his different style of singing, his modulation and his experimentation with his voice partly influenced by RD. Burman’s song “Mehbooba Mehbooba”.
Composers eager to cash in on his unique voice gave him the opportunity to sing songs like “Aye Shabba Aye Shabba”, “Azhagiya Laila”, “Thillana Thillana” and many others that went on to become blockbuster hits. He has also sung some semi-classical numbers like Athma Varaiyo.
Catch none other than Mano as he doles out some of the super-hit Hindi and Tamil songs sung not only by him but by popular singers like Md. Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Ilayaraja and SP. Balasubramanium.
Mano is performing live at Chowdiah Memorial Hall, Bangalore on Sunday, the 14th of April, 2013. Get 3 hours of non-stop musical entertainment courtesy Mano.
