Album Analysis

Kajal Chellivaa

Singers : Ravi Teja, S. Thaman

The much hyped Ravi Teja rendered number! This song has nothing new on the musical front but it doesn’t take out the fact that it is highly entertaining. Fans are going to have a field-day with the visuals. The arrangements, rendition, tune, etc are typical Thaman-ish. Nothing new but foot-tapping !

Singers : S. P. Balasubrahmanyam, Geetha Madhuri

Easily…EASILY the BEST commercial Telugu number in recent times! S. P. B brings a whole new dimension to the entire track. The vocals sound the same even after 25 years – still fresh, still energetic. This song works only because of the top-notch singing by SPB. The improvisations he makes during the first interlude elevate the song to a different level. This generation’s composers need to use him a little more frequently. One man show !

Lucky Lucky Rai

Singers: Naveen Madhav, MM. Manasi

The weakest song of the album! ‘Lucky Lucky Rai’ is eerily similar to Thaman’s previous hit numbers from Dookudu, Businessman and Baadshah. Listeners immediately would find resemblance to the ‘Poovai Poovai’ number. Despite spirited singing, this song falls flat because of its tune. Still, it might get better with the visuals.

Singers: Suchith Suresan, Megha

This song is strangely very very similar to ‘Akila Akila’ from ‘OKOK’(accidentally though?). The beats, arrangements are quite Harris Jeyaraj-esque. The tune is instantly catchy. The singers have done a good job in sticking with the tune of the song. The interludes deserve a mention too.  Another winner!

Pathikella Chinnadi

Singers: Mika Singh, Ranina Reddy

The much expected Mika Singh’s Telugu number. This song is an amalgamation of Thaman’s standard tunes thrown in with Mikha Singh’s high energy singing. This song has all the ingredients to become the mass favorite provided they promote this song well. Watch out for some dance moves as well!

Picks of the album: Yevaindho, Pathikella Chinnadi, Padipoyanilla

Album Verdict: Much better than any of Ravi Teja’s last 3 albums !

Album Rating: ★★★★★★½☆☆☆
