Avan Ivan is the latest album from Yuvan Shankar Raja. He has now teamed up with the national award winning director Bala. The cast of this film includes Arya, Vishal, Janani Iyer and Madhushalini. Touted to be a comic caper, this film has already garnered huge expectations. Let us see how the music of this film fares.
|Dia Dia Dole|
Singers -: TL Maharajan, Sathyan
This one looks like a Thiruvizha song or maybe an intro song for ‘avan’ and ‘ivan’. The song reminds you of the previous thiruvizha koothu songs in Madurai based movies. But the voice of the lead singers bring about the difference. Good choice that by Yuvan. Otherwise it is just a decent start to the album
Dia Dia Dole
Singer -: Suchitra
This is another ‘theru koothu’ type song with the blazing trumpet and tavil playing hard. The improvisations in the trumpet are noteworthy. Suchitra has got a bold voice and doesn’t fail to set a mood for the song. The song suddenly stops halfway and in comes some fast paced beats that is sure gonna rock when screened. Fast paced and energetic.
Singer -: Vijay Prakash
This is the first slow song of the movie. The lyrics tend to convey that some death has taken place and a resulting melancholy, this song. The song somehow gives the feel of ‘theeyil vizhundha thena’ from ‘Varalaaru’. Barring that, it is a wonderful composition. Well sung too.
Oru Malaiyoram -:
Singers -: Vijay Yesudas, Baby Priyanka, Baby Srinisa, Baby Nithya
This song has 4 singers of which 3 are mentioned ‘babies’. Is it really? I was really taken aback. What a singing! The song starts with one of those 3 and it has been sung really well. This one is another soulful melody. Definitely the pick of the album. All the singers have sung beautifully. Very well crafted and nicely composed song. Brilliant.
Singer -: Haricharan
The combination of Haricharan and Yuvan has always been successful. We already have numerous evidences for the same. This song could be another addition to that list. The orchestration especially in the middle of the song needs to be mentioned. The tune of this song quite unique and the pattern the song takes is also different. Good one again.
Though Yuvan is not in his best with this album, he never fails to impress. He has come out with a couple of wonderful songs. The other songs are equally good. They may pick up once the movie releases. A good album from Yuvan yet again.
