Album Analysis:

1. Pad Gaye Ji

Singers: KK, Sunidhi Chauhan

The song starts off on a slow pitch with KK’s seemingly levitating you to the clouds. I would always say that Sunidhi seems sweeter and natural in a slow number than in her numerous item number renditions. The number alternates between on and off, slow and fast pace with an apt use of instruments for each pace. The background instrumentals complement the lead voices and make the song a treat to listen to. The lyrics are romantic and enjoyable and the tune soothing. What more can you ask for? The drawback: one does get a passing thought that I have heard it somewhere previously.

2. Crazy Lover

Singers: Vishal Dadlani, Sunidhi Chauhan

All right guys!! Get ready to rock n roll to some bumpy music. Vishal Dadlani performs magic with the lyrics making this a crazy song indeed. The song seems to bring back the disco songs of the 80’s. Sunidhi in a dance number is simply, uncontrollably riotous. She can set the floor on fire with her voice and that is exactly what happens in this number. Sadly, the music doesn’t complement the voices and the lyrics. Hitesh could have worked on it a little more.

3. Bas Main Aur Tu

Singers: Nikhil D’Souza

Nikhil soothes the soul with his relaxed voice and some cool lyrics in this slow number with his only company being the guitar with the piano joining in at times. Credit goes to Luv Ranjan for penning some catchy words that connect with the common ‘Junta’ quite easily. Nikhil carries the song on his shoulders from start to finish and wins it for Hitesh Sonik.  The only sad part is that the song carries on at a uniform pace all through.

4. Rumani

Singers: Thomson Andrews, Shalmali Kholgades

Thomson does wonders with his voice in this groovy number that starts slow and gradually unfolds its pace to entertain one and all. A genuine attempt at creating something different here by Hitesh. Shalmali Joins mid-way and helps us groove some more. Hitesh uses the instrumentals to the hilt so as to create an enjoyable track.

5. Tera Mera Naam

Singers: Shafqat Amanat Ali

A dead slow number at the start, the song catches its pace though. This is the song for the sad part of the love story between Akaash and Vani, the lead protagonists and Shafqat’s voice is moving. The voice is enjoyable and the instrumental arrangements only add to the beauty of the song. The lyrics too are equally moving and bring in the mood to the song. The music video of this particular number would be more interesting to see. All is well except the sad, teary part.

6. Bas Main Aur Tu (Reprise)

Singers: Nikhil D’Souza, Vasudha Sharma

The reprise version of the original song is even more interesting with even more apt instrumentals to go with. The original had only the guitar and the piano for the most part. The tune is peppy and Nikhil is as awesome as he can ever get. Just lie back and enjoy the song with that ever sweet smile on your lips. I bet you can’t stop hearing on loop.

Overall Analysis:

This is a decent attempt except a couple of really good songs. Nikhil D’Souza stands out with his rendition of ‘Bas Main Aur Tu’ and Shafqat Amanat Ali brings tears to the soul with his voice in ‘Tera Mera Naam’. Hitesh needs to be thanked for coming up with a reprise version that excels above all. Vishal Dadlani goes crazy and makes us go crazy with ‘Crazy Lover’. KK and Sunidhi bring the charm on with ‘Pad Gaye Jii’, one of the rarest times when we get to hear Sunidhi sing a molody number. She then sets us grooving to her naughty voice in ‘Crazy Lover’. Luv Ranjan in the lyrics department has excelled and produced some really moving words and connects with the common man which is critical.

Rightly complimenting a love story, the album has a romantic base with even the lyrics oozing out with equal romance. Although ‘Crazy lover’ and ‘Rumani’ don’t let you have a musical blast, the other numbers make up for it. Hope Hitesh has a nice start to the year 2013 and to his career with this album.
