 Director : Bhushan Patel

 Producer : Husnain

 Music Director : Chirantan Bhatt

Singers : Sonu Nigam, Arjit Singh, K.K, Amit Mishra, Mahalakshi Iyer, Suzanne D’Mello

The sequel of the 2008 horror movie 1920, is all set to release on November 2nd,2012. The trailer of the movie 1920 : Evil Returns seemed very interesting and caught quite a lot of attention. A supernatural thriller, the plot of the movie seems to be quite similar to that of Raaz, the first part. The filming began in 2011, in Sweden, so hopefully we will get to see a lot of picturesque scenes in the movie.

Horror movies made in Bollywood have never lived up to the mark; they either end up being too unrealistic or hilarious. Hopefully this movie lives up to the expectations of the audience.

The music album of this movie has 5 tracks, let’s have a look at how they perform.

Song name Singer Rating
Apnaa mujhe tu lagaa Sonu Nigam ★★★☆☆
Uska hi banana Arijit Singh ★★☆☆☆
Jaavedaan Hai K.K and Suzanne D’Mello ★★★☆☆
Khud ko tere Mahalakshmi Iyer ★★½☆☆
Majboor tu bhi kahin Amit Mishra ★★½☆☆

 1.       Apnaa mujhe tu lagaa

This four and a half minute song is a decent one. Not very impressive when it comes to the music even though it’s harmonious, because almost all slow love tracks have a similar tune. Sonu Nigam’s voice however, is quite rejuvenating to listen to especially when he takes the higher notes in some parts of the track.

 2.       Uska hi banana

Another long song and this one stretches up to 5 and a half minutes! But every minute of this song is worth listening to if you are a fan of mellow love songs or like the idea of being in love. The tune gets quite draggy after a while and so does the singing, never the less it is still bearable.

 3.       Jaavedaan Hai

This is one song which sounds fresh and having K.K sing it, it doesn’t need any more description.

But, there’s a hitch! In the beginning the song sounds like a new composition however it’s only during the chorus that one realizes, the tune as well as the singing sound a lot like ‘Hale dil’ song from Murder 2. So if you liked Hale Dil, you might like this one too.

4.       Khud ko tere

Nope, this one isn’t impressive either. Boring lyrics, morbid and painfully slow music which will just dampen your mood. On the other hand the only reason you should listen to this track is because of vocals, extremely sweet and euphonious.

 5.       Majboor tu bhi kahin

Another slow track and a disappointment. The music composition isn’t splendid enough to attract attention and neither are the lyrics. Yet again the singer saves the track, but it still isn’t enough to make it bearable.

Album ★★★★★☆☆☆☆☆

 Verdict :

All the tracks in this movie are lengthy ones running to more than five minutes, which is not a bad thing but what makes it unbearable is the not so original music which also creates a very gloomy atmosphere and lyrics which are mediocre. Being a horror movie it is justified not to have a very happy and chirpy tracks however there is not a single track which has a spooky music that can give one an adrenaline rush. Listen to this album for the vocals, it’s the best thing about it.
