1. The Time (Dirty Bit)
Quite a good follow up to their previous hit from the multi-platinum selling album “The E.N.D.”’s best single ‘I Gotta Feeling’. The song starts off in the perfect party tempo but then turns into a bit of a repetitive chant in the following verses. However, the catchy chorus, sampled from the 1987 movie, ‘Dirty Dancing’, makes this song really amazing. Its 100 million views on YouTube pays testament to that.
2. Light Up The Night
This single is probably, the group’s least Auto Tuned track ever, in my opinion at least. Will.i.am has, for sure, made this simple, flat-sounding song into a great party song, considering the lyrics which speak of performing insane things in a party.
3. Love You Long Time
There’s nothing special about this song. Oh, wait! You’ve that insanely catchy chorus that’s so seductive that it just prevents you from pressing that ‘Next’ button. If you’re an R&B fan, this is one song you wouldn’t wanna pass on.
4. XOXOXO
In this song, will.i.am truly shows his skill at making quite unrelated things rhyme. Heavily Auto Tuned it may be, but that isn’t gonna stop people from swooning over hearing this one. Not their best single yet, but one of their good ones, for sure!
5. Someday
Another classic ‘just-make-the-lyrics-rhyme’ song. It isn’t exemplary in any way. The lyrics themselves are pretty weak. A mediocre song, in conclusion.
6. Whenever
Pretty listenable. Thanks to Fergie! Nothing much in this track. It’s just another acceptable R&B track.
7. Fashion Beats
An average song, would’ve sounded better without all that over-tuning of Fergie’s voice. Not a bad track. Not a really good one, either!
8. Don’t Stop The Party
Will.i.am ventures into a previously unexplored territory here – Techno style. It’s not too bad either. The song starts out pretty weakly but gets really good towards the end! The Black Eyed Peas should certainly try Techno more in their coming albums than sticking to R&B.
9. Do It Like This
Fergie and will.i.am rapping! Yes, you read that right. Probably not their best idea to venture into rap. The song sucks plainly. The Auto Tuned howl-like noise in the chorus also makes it totally unbearable!
10. The Best One Yet (The Boy)
The song totally justifies the title. This is, without any competition, the best one from this album. The song seems quite unremarkable on the first try. But, the entire chorus just draws you into its vortex if you keep listening. Should be credited to the song’s producer and undoubtedly the best producer right now, David Guetta!
11. Just Can’t Get Enough
Well, who can resist Fergie’s seductive tones? This song is just irresistible! The lyrics make sense too, which is quite an achievement! Yet another super-hit song from the Black Eyed Peas.
12. Play It Loud
If you were hoping for the album to end on an awesome high, the way it started out, you’re about to be disappointed. The background music almost makes it impossible to hear the lyrics. Seriously, what were they thinking when they recorded this. Worst song on this album and their worst song ever. ‘The Worst One Yet’ would’ve been a better title.
Overall Album

Considering how almost every song was pure awesome in ‘The E.N.D.’, the fact is that this album totally fails to go one up on its predecessor. While it can be termed a decent album, it is to be noted that the entire album is very heavily Auto Tuned and I can’t figure out why Fergie wasn’t featured as much as their previous albums. The final verdict – The “end” is always better than the “beginning”!
