Saadi Love Story is an upcoming Punjabi film starring Amrinder Gill, Diljit Dosanjh, Surveen Chawla, Jaswinder Bhalla, Rana Ranbir and Binnu Dhillon. Punjabi movies are usually known for the fun themes, good locales and awesome foot-tapping music, let’s see how this album fares.
1. Dhol special:
Groovy beats and an upbeat tempo puts this song into any DJ’s list ,the tune sounds a bit folk-sy like most of the typical Punjabi numbers we hear which haven’t been Bollywood-ized if I may say so and the continuous refrains of ‘Dhol special’ is quite annoying.
2. Saadi love story:
When a song opens with the melodious riffs of a guitar, you know it’s going to sound nice and this song does not disappoint. Kunal Ganjawala’s melodious voice takes you through this mellow yet strong title track along with Sumitra Iyer’s husky tone, one of the best in the album.
This is a pleasant song which and has a good feel but at times a little melancholic. Amrinder gill’s voice blends melodiously with the soothing tune of the song. Not one of my favourites but nevertheless a good listen.
4. Aaja bhangra pa laiye:
The moment you hear this you automatically start doing a little jig. An upbeat fun song which is a perfect song to dance to, especially during weddings.
5. Laltain nachdi:
The upbeat song features Diljit Dosanjh and Neetu Singh dancing in a club and listening to this you’ll feel like doing the very same. This is one of those songs that will automatically have you running to the dance floor and enjoying to the hilt.
6. Saadi love story (sad version)
Sung by Navraj Hans this song does set your pulse racing. Even though the tune is the same as the original version this song has more feel to it, not a happy one but it goes with the theme or the version of the song. Emotional and quite powerful.
7. Saadi love story (remix)
Not one of the best in the album. It sort of takes away the feel and it is a tad too slow to even dance too so neither here nor there. I prefer the original version sung by Kunal Ganjawala.
Pretty good, pumpy songs but is not the best album to come out in recent times. Perhaps they would sound even better along the course of the movie. It has its good and bad aspects. Going by the buzz the movie is receiving this album will surely be listened to and it is worth at least a one-time listen.
Picks of the album: Saadi love story, Laltain nachdi
Album verdict: Pretty good but not the best
