Music Album : Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai

Music Director : Pritam

Lyricists: Irshad Kamil, Neelesh Misra and Amitabh Bhattacharya.

The Music Album of Once Upon a Time in Mumbai is a Pritam’s Composition and he has done well for the most parts. With the song Pee Loon being a record Breaker, Tum Jo aaye is also good romantic number. The lyrics are nice. The album is surely one of the better albums of 2010.

Song Name Singers/Performers Rating
Pee Loon Mohit Chauhan ★★★★½
Tum Jo Aaye Rahat Fateh Ali Khan & Tulsi Kumar ★★★★½
I Am In Love Karthik ★★★☆☆
Parda Sunidhi Chauhan & Rana Mazumder ★★★½☆
Babu Rao Mika ★★★☆☆

  1.      Pee Loon

Singer: Mohit Chauhan

This song is fast and energetic and gets you in the groove. Salim Merchant and Sunidhi Chauhan get you in the mood to dance within no time. The lyrics are cheeky but it adds to the flavor of the song. The beats are perfect and it keeps you engaged throughout. There is a feel of enthusiasm throughout the song. This song is certainly the stand out in the album. Hear it once and you are tempted to hear it again and again!

2.      Tum Jo Aaye

Singer: Rahat Fateh Ali Khan & Tulsi Kumar

This song is a romantic and a soothing song. Rahet Fateh Ali Khan is at his usual best and Tulsi Kumar charms a lot. It also has proper beats and interludes. The song is another good attempt by the singers who have done a great job. The music also suits and so does the lyrics.

3.      I Am In Love

Singer: Karthik

The song goes largely unnoticed in the album which has star studded songs like Pee Loon. Though the song has been well sung by the Karthik it does not create the required interest.

 4.      Parda

Singer: Sunidhi Chauhan & Rana Mazumder

The song is an attempted fast jazz song. Sunidhi Chauhan has done well and the song is inspired by an old song. This song is outclassed by other songs in the album and fails to create an impact and a buzz.

 5.      Babu Rao

Singer: Mika Singh

This song is a nice one and gels with the movie. The beats are perfect and the music charms you and makes you tap along. Mika does well and the song suits the movie. However the song alone does not come off.

Album ★★★★★★★½☆☆

Once Upon a Time in Mumbai is a mediocre album. It has refreshing songs of various genres. The album has some chart toppers. Pritam has done a good job with this one. Irshad  Kamil and Mohit Chauhan have been good with Pee Loon. It is a fun filled album with an average collection of songs. Go for the album and you will sure have some of the songs in your favorite list!
