Album Analysis:

Mirchi

Singers: Chinna Ponnu

Lyrics: Ramjogayya Sastry

A short track! This in all possible ways might be used as the background score. Chinna Ponnu’s Telugu diction needs to be worked on a little. The ‘Madurai’ slang is very evident & regarding the beats, they are typical.

Yahoon Yahoon

Singers: Mika Singh

Lyrics: Ramjogayya Sastry

Typical DSP way to start this song and there is nothing new in the arrangements. It is hard to believe Mika Singh was the guy who sang ‘Pungi’ and DSP was the guy who gave us ‘Kevvu Kakka’ as there is nothing innovative in this number. The entertainment factor is plenty though and this song is all set to be fan favorite of the album.

Idhedho Bagundey

Singers: Vijay Prakash,Anitha

Lyrics: Ramjogayya Sastry

The album’s best number! In fact, I guess this has to be DSP’s best composition after his work in ‘Gabbar Singh’. This is a peppy, slow duet likely to be picturized on Prabhas and Anushka. Ramjogayya Sastry has done a commendable job. The singers have done justice and the initial segment of the song is catchy.

Pandagala

Singers: Kailash Kher

Lyrics: Ramjogayya Sastry

Pandagala is a ‘praise the hero’ type of song. There is a sudden shift in the lyrics from depicting sorrow to depicting joy. Is Kailash Kher really required for a song like this? Well, let the listeners decide themselves. But then, this song is one of the better songs in the album.

Barbie Girl

Singers: Jaspreet Jasz,Suchitra

Lyrics: Ramjogayya Sastry

This track is straight out of ‘Hawa Hawa’ from ‘Rockstar’. I wonder whether people around the composer would have found it so obvious. That apart, ’Barbie Girl’ is terrifically sung by Suchitra & Jaspreet. The song has a Latino flavor to it and there is nothing else to brag about this number.

Nee Choopula

Singers: Kailash Kher

Lyrics: Ramjogayya Sastry

This is a very short track lasting hardly a minute. The lyrics fall under ‘we need a leader’, ’we need somenone’ category.

Darlingey

Singers: Devi Sri Prasad,Geetha Madhuri

Lyrics: Ramjogayya Sastry

“Darlingey” is a mass number rendered by DSP himself. Someone like Baba Sehgal might have been a better choice. However, this song is quite catchy, quite racy and is sure to stay in charts and music channels. Can expect some good dance moves too.

Picks of the album: Idhedho Bagundey,Yahoon Yahoon

Album Verdict: DSP Improves!
