‘Locked Out of Heaven,’ recorded by Bruno Mars for his second studio album ‘Unorthodox Jukebox.’ The song was a commercial success, topping the Billboard Hot 100 for six consecutive weeks and the Canadian Hot 100 for three consecutive weeks. The critics have absolutely loved this one and have given fairly fabulous reviews, to the extent that some have called this a ‘classic’ work.
The song runs entirely on an upbeat tempo, a split infinitive somewhere in the middle, yet nearly perfect. The track starts with Bruno Mars’ sexy drawl that’s just out of this world. The way he goes all ‘yeah yeah yeah’ can’t just be described in words.
The combination of sheer ability to get to the emotional side of the song and the acoustics and that have gone down perfectly well with complementing his style in this one has made it absolute classic. The retro-club mix coupled with Bruno’s raunchiness has made this track one of a kind.
Since there’s so much that’s been said about the lyrics, it would be unfair not to credit him with the share of accolades that he deserves. Done with euphemisms, aren’t we? Well, that’s what our young artist believes in, saying it straight in a way that’s neither vulgar nor clumsy. Well said, even lyrics like ‘your sex takes me to paradise’ do not, in anyway bring down the joy of the song, the beats just beat it all.
The passion, zeal and the energy of the song is amazing. In fact, it’s an understatement to call it amazing. This song is here to stay and for a really long time. A must listen.
Album verdict: Even if you haven’t liked Bruno Mars before, this one you can’t not like it. You’ll love it.
