1. Aa Bhi Ja Mere Mehermaan
Singer : Atif Aslam
“Aa Bhi Ja Mere Mehermaan” was the first single to be released from “Jayanta Bhai Ki Luv Story” & it has the fan-favorite Atif Aslam helming the vocals. The song starts off in a gothic fashion with hummings, followed by Atif Aslam’s regular, familiar singing. The entire song is distinctly separable into two layers. One – Atif Aslam’s singing hitting high notes frequently(as he usually does) & two – the gothic humming portion coupled with instrumentations which are used in the prelude, interludes.
2. Hai Na
Singers : Atif Aslam, Priya Panchal
A rocking song ! This is a superb composition which never lets out the listeners off its hook. The guitar pieces are very distinct. Out of all the songs Atif has sung in this album, this is his best one. Priya Panchal is equally good too. The “Maine Bhi” segment nails this song. Must hear !
3. Thoda Thoda
Singers : Sachin, Shreya Ghoshal
Thoda Thoda is a breezy, soft duet which is catchy from the word go. This is the only non-Atif sung number in the album. The male vocals are helmed by the composer himself & Shreya Ghoshal is excellent as usual. The song has some interesting lyrics thrown in too.
4. Dil Na Jaane Kyun
Singers : Atif Aslam, Anushka Manchanda
A party, club number ! Though the synthesizers find its place in every modern day album, this one is too good to ignore. Anushka Manchanda completely dominates the song & she has done complete justice to this song. Atif Aslam is good too but, its Anushka’s show all the way.
5. Mashup
Singers : DJ Kiran Kamath, Atif Aslam
This is just an additional entry in the soundtrack. It cannot definitely feature in the movie. This might still be played in DJ’s, clubs. Basically, this number is a well made mashup of songs from the entire album.
Planned or coincidentally, Vivek Oberoi’s most movies have good music – Saathiya, Kyun Ho Gaya Na, Prince, Kisna, Yuva, Road to name a few. Since this movie is being made under the famed Tips banner, this movie had all possibilities to join that list with some really foot-tapping, soul stirring music. Atif Aslam has sung it in his typical fashion with his voice taking centre stage but the real drawback is that Atif Aslam has sung so many songs of this genre that it looks as if his voice is being typecasted. A little bit of variety might have had that extra pull. Still, this album has a good hook and has all potentials to be a crowd puller. Now, its all upto good filming and visualization of these songs. Certainly, one of the best albums to have released this year !
Picks : Hai Na, Thoda Thoda, Aa Bhi Jaa
Verdict : Go for it ! Totally worth it !
