The leading lady is also making her debut behind the screens donning many hats – screenwriter, producer. Sajid-Wajid, after couple of inconsistent shows in the form of “Rowdy Rathore” & “Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal” is back. Being such a critical film for Preity, onus was on the musical duo to deliver good music & have they? Let’s find out.

Album Analysis :

1. It’s All About Tonight

Singers : Sunidhi Chauhan, Sophie Choudhary, Rahul Vaidya

The album kick starts with this highly westernized, energetic number. Lots of synthesizers are used in this song. This is a disco number with fast paced lineup of background instruments & is all set to rule DJ’s for the next few days. Sunidhi Chauhan as usual is in prime form here & Sophie Choudhary chips in with the French lines. The male vocalist Rahul Vaidya is due for a place in the industry for a long time(Remember Indian Idol 1 where he sung Suraj Hua Maddham ?)

2. Saiyaan

Singers : Rahat Fateh Ali Khan

Now, comes the slowly rendered Saiyaan by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. Somehow, this song becomes one of the weakest songs of the album. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan & slow numbers are becoming a typecast. No great instrumentations except for the paced tabla pieces in the background. Definitely a speed breaker !

3. Kudiye Di Kurti

Singers : Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal

This is the song which is going to gather all the eyeballs because Salman Khan is dancing for it. Kudiye Di Kurti is a folkish number with perfect wedding beats & lyrics. The entire limelight of this song is sure to be taken by Salman. Sonu Nigam leads the vocals & he is at complete control. The song is also not bad. One of the better songs of the album !

4. Jaane Bhi De

Singers : Wajid

Though not as effective as the Duet version, this version has all the plus points of the Duet version along with vocals by Wajid himself. Definitely listenable !

5. Jaane Bhi De (Duet)

Singers : Sonu Nigam, Sunidhi Chauhan

And, now comes the spectacular song of the album. A slow, soft romantic number rendered soulfully by Sonu Nigam & Sunidhi Chauhan. The versatility of both the singers amaze me. One  look at their other song in this album, you get to know what I am talking about. Coming to the song, this one has a piano background throughout. A very pleasing effect is evident throughout !

6.  Teri Choodiyan Da Crazy Crazy

Singers : Wajid

Another fast paced bhangra number. Wajid himself takes on the singing part here. This song offers nothing new. The background instruments are too loud & lyrics too don’t make an impression. Give it a miss !

Sajiid-Wajid really score when they try to keep it simple. This album has brought them back to the basics of soothing music. With all the ‘Dhink-Chaks’ in the past albums it seemed they had moved out of the radar. But, Ishkq in Paris has a good assemble of songs. Though, couple of tracks are heavily disappointing  the remaining songs have the capacity to hit the channels.

Picks of the album : Kudiye Di Kurti, Jaane Bhi De (Duet) & It’s All About Tonight

Album Verdict : Back to the Basics attempt !

Album ★★★★★★★☆☆☆
