1. Going Somewhere?
Asiago’s intro track is intense and ominous, dark and Pink Floyd influenced. There is a lot of room for the band to expand from here.
2. Supervision
Immediately, the band shows their versatility with a unique blend of alternative, pop, gothic/industrial, and funk. The chorus is catchy with vocals reminiscent of Placebo and Sneaker Pimps.
3. Exposed
This track is night and day different from it’s predecessor. Dark and sparse with loads of atmosphere and emotion. There is some great use of influence from acts like Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails, and A Perfect Circle here, albeit with Asiago’s original twist.
4. Wake Up In A Fire
Things get poppy here, but not in a bad way. Think R.E.M. The chorus is a winner, and this track could easily be all over the radio. It’s a rare mainstream outing that has both depth and melody.
5. Ghostwriter
Asiago get moody again here, and it seems to where the band feels comfortable. Heavy guitars and deeply personal lyrics communicate the message. The female backup vocals bring this track to epic territory.
Album

Asiago have planned “Going Somewhere?” as the first of 3 EP’s, and it’s quite a good introduction to the band. They seem to be travelling in multiple directions, taking inspiration from David Bowie, Placebo, A Perfect Circle, R.E.M, Massive Attack, and a host of others. The combination works and ultimately Asiago come across as earnest and worthwhile.
