Album Analysis :
1. Dil Ki Safari
Singers : Shankar Mahadevan, Raman Mahadevan, Shivam Mahadevan, Mahalakshmi Iyer
What a start to the album ! This song has Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy’s signature written all over it. The chorus parts are done amazingly well. Mahalakshmi Iyer’s voice appears very unique & Raman Mahadevan continues his good run with SEL following Heyy Babyy, Jhonny Gaddar & Taare Zameen Par. Above all, Shankar Mahadevan’s vocals standout giving the required touch to the song.
2. Meri Duniya Terey
Singers : Shekhar Ravjiani, Mahalakshmi Iyer, Shivam Mahadevan
The best song of the album, hands down ! This is one of the best pieces of duets which u might have listened in recent times. Shekhar Ravjiani lends his voice for this song along with Mahalakshmi Iyer & they have done a fabulous job. The overall soothing, soft, pleasant feel work wonders for the song .A sure playlist entry !
3. Aao Re Pardesi
Singers : Karsan Sargathia, Taranum Malik
This song starts with a folkish prelude with an extended male humming followed by a brass section. This song gives you an idea at the very instant that it is being done for animated characters. The male voice has been sung with a certain kick & that deserves mention. This song has the capacity to support the visuals & one can wait for it on-screen!
4. Jungle Main Mangal
Singers : Shankar Mahadevan
The theme song of the movie ! “Jungle Main Mangal” has Shankar Mahadevan doing what he is known for i.e. giving his best behind the mic. Kids would love this song as the tune is very lyric friendly & at the same time, the singing makes all the difference. The background beats are peppy but at no point overshadow the vocals & lyrics which is a huge positive. In fact, it has been an added feature in all the songs of this album.
5. Dhadak Dhadak
Singers : Shankar Mahadevan, Raghubir Yadhav
Raghubir Yadhav starts off “Dhadak Dhadak” with a zing & one can sense that the tune is rural, catchy from the word ‘go’. A very short song which in all probabilities would be used along the narrative!
After garnering universal acclaim for their scores in “ZNMD”, ”Don 2”, SEL were in a sabbatical. ”Delhi Safari” has become their first musical entry this year. Nikhil Advani, who has a long association with SEL right from Kal Ho Na Ho, Salaam-e-Ishq, Patiala House, Chandni Chowk to China is back again but this time he has wielded the megaphone for an animated film & it has been widely believed that it is certainly one of its kind in Indian cinema. SEL stamp their authority in every song & the superb fact is that all these songs have the tendency to suit both mainstream, regular films as well as animated films. Well, this album has just added some more spice for SEL’s next grand release “Viswaroop”.
Picks of the album : Jungle Main Mangal, Meri Duniya Terey, Dil Ki Safari
Album Verdict : This safari is a fun ride ! A complete SEL smash !
