Another movie under the banner of Super cassettes Industries Ltd and Vishesh films falling under the genre of romantic-action is all set to release on 26th April 2013. After a series of movies which were directed by Mohit Suri all falling under the same genre, Aashiqui 2 is no different. Starring two very good looking actors namely Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor the movie is based on a modern day love story. This is nothing new to watch however the music album of this movie has received quite a bit of appreciation. There are eleven songs in the movie most of them running on the lines of love, let’s see whether these songs are better than the ones in the first movie – “Aashiqui”
|Tum Hi Ho||Arijit Singh|
|Sunn Raha Hai||Ankit Tiwari|
|Chahun Mein Ya Na||Arijit Singh and Palak Muchhal|
|Hum Mar Jayenge||Arijit Singh and Tulsi Kumar|
|Meri Aashiqui||Arijit Singh and Palak Muchhal|
|Piya Aaye Na||K.K and Tulsi Kumar|
|Bhula Dena||Mustafa Zahid|
|Aasan Nahi Yahan||Arijit Singh|
|Sunn Raha Hai||Shreya Ghoshal|
|Milne Hai Mujhse Aayi||Arijit Singh|
1. Tum hi ho
This sad lyrical but extremely soothing to the ears song runs up to four and a half minutes. The song is lovely, no doubt but it has this gloomy aura about it which can get your mood down. Other than that this song is a good start to the album. Best part of the song is the chorus, the lyrics are beautiful.
2. Sunn raha hai
As the song starts off it doesn’t really appeal to you but slowly as the song progresses it catches your attention. There’s a peak in the voice and music which takes a completely different turn by introducing very classical rock kind of music. The lyrics are alright nothing that can grip you but listen to this one for it’s music.
3. Chahun mein ya na
The song runs up to five long minutes but you have two amazing singers whose vocals are absolutely melodious. Other than the vocals there’s nothing more to the song, even the music seems quite plain compared to the previous two tracks.
4. Hum mar jayenge
So, you have Tulsi Kumar’s vocals starting off the song which is extremely soft but unlike her other songs in which you can’t stop appreciating her this one doesn’t seem to live up to that expectation. The music is again quite simple not musical enough though. Lyrics are passable.
5. Meri aashiqui
A very slow start to the song which gets draggy and make you want to move on to the next song. The original one is way better as even though that one is slow too it’s faster than this one and more lyrical.
6. Piya aaye na
Another morbid song. Seems like this album is filled with such songs. However K.K’s vocals comes as such a relief, it kind off lifts up the entire spirit. The tune too picks up speed and becomes enjoyable to listen to after first few seconds into the song.
7. Bhula dena
Mustafa Zahid is one gifted singer. His vocals is the only good aspect of this song, if not for him one would definitely skip the it.
8. Aasan nahi yahan
This song is comparatively a happy one. Though it’s not great in terms of music or lyrics and vocals too don’t seem to appeal much. One might end up listening only half of this song and jump to next one.
9. Sunn raha hai
This song is a female version and it’s really hard to decide which version is better the male or female one. When you have a well acclaimed and gifted singer like Shreya Ghoshal singing you find it really hard not to soak yourself into the aura created by her voice.
10. Milne hai mujhse aayi
Another passable track. Lyrics are nice and the vocals too but the tune somehow doesn’t really click. I would skip this one.
11. Aashiqui theme
Another version of the original Aashiqui song in this album which is sung by Mithoon. As the song starts off it sounds like a track of a horror movie and continues to sound like that till the end. A disappointment this one is.
Verdict : Most of the songs in this album are long ones which doesn’t really click. Except for the first track of the album which is Aashiqui all the other songs are quite boring to listen to. The composers have done a good job with the title track however they haven’t really continued that when it comes to the other 10 tracks in the album. Unfortunately this is one of those albums which will come and go without anyone noticing it.
